Hi, I'm Richard Wood, the photographer behind Rabbit & Fox.

I've been photographing weddings for nearly 25 years, starting in the days of film, when you had to get it right in the camera because there was no second chance. That habit has stayed with me. Today my work has been recognised with awards in New Zealand and overseas such as a 5 time NZIPP New Zealand Professional Photographer of the Year recipient, 2 time Overall winner at the Asia Pacific Photography Awards and Grand Award titles at WPPI and the International Icon Awards. I work full time as a commercial photographer as well as a wedding photographer in the Summer months.
 

That last part matters to you. Because I'm busy all year, I don't need to inflate my wedding prices to cover a quiet winter. You get the same skill my commercial clients and award judges see, at a fair price.

What I enjoy most is photographing people. I know how to pose and light you so you look like the best version of yourself, and I know when to step back and let real moments happen. I can read a room, feel tension before it shows, and notice when something needs adjusting. I'm there to support you on the day, often in ways nobody sees.
 

After all these years I know what helps a wedding day run smoothly, and I share that advice freely. What matters most to me is simple: that you feel relaxed, enjoy your day, and enjoy the photography too.

I'm NZIPP accredited, I follow the NZIPP Code of Ethics, and I carry liability insurance, so you're protected from the first email to the final photo.
